The New Yorker described Become Ocean by John Luther Adams as “the most beautiful apocalypse in musical history”. For 45 minutes, the listener is awestruck by a gigantic, musical tidal wave. At Klarafestival, the composition receives a visual dimension for the first time, thanks to video artist Lillevan. The Belgian National Orchestra combines this world premiere with Beethoven’s one and only Violin Concerto and Human Voices Only by Belgian composer Kris Defoort.
