Songs with Roots
The world is full of beautiful songs: lullabies, songs for celebrating, mourning, sowing or harvesting. Every culture has its own songs and stories, passed down from generation to generation. The legendary musicologist Alan Lomax travelled the world in search of the most beautiful songs to remember forever. The result: a phenomenal archive that has inspired countless musicians.
Today, the band Radio Lomax is following in his footsteps. Three singers and two instrumentalists bring hidden treasures from Lomax's archive to life. These songs could easily be heard just around the corner, in the super-diverse city of Brussels. They also took to the streets of the capital with sound artist Giulia Vismara, meeting fascinating people from diverse backgrounds who generously shared several new songs with them. You can discover their musical adventures in Songs with Roots.
