Two Systems is the name of the accordion duo formed by Lowie Vercammen and Louis De Backere. Since 2018, the duo has been navigating the space between classical and contemporary music. In 2022, they were selected as part of the ‘new generation’ at the Airbag Festival in Bruges and are regular guests at events organised by Ghent University. Both Lowie Vercammen and Louis De Backere have won first prize in the solo category of the international NOVAM competition and, in 2023, were also awarded first prize in the chamber music category as a duo. In the near future, they plan several new projects in collaboration with Belgian and international composers. Their ambition is clear: to reach an ever wider and more diverse audience.
