For centuries, people have risked everything for a better future. Fleeing war, hunger or persecution, they follow in the footsteps of generations of pilgrims. Their journey is a pilgrimage, according to Brussels pianist Julien Libeer: a symbolic journey imbued with hope and desire. As an ode to people on the move around the world, he asked Fabian Fiorini to compose an oratorio for the children's choirs Equinox and Singing Molenbeek. Pilgrims. Sounds of Travel, with a libretto by Donald Sturrock, is inspired by the gospel tradition, with a leading role for the young singer Anicet Adeyemi.
