Are you ready for your first Belgian tour?
In 2027, around ten Belgian organisations will once again set out in search of the new stars of tomorrow: promising young ensembles who are shaping the music of today. Fancy following in the footsteps of the Effel Quartet, the Susato Trio, the Ensemble Satellite or Goggles? Sign up for the Supernova competition and give your career a real boost. Who knows, you might just become the next name on the music scene, with a concert tour in Belgium, extensive media coverage and airplay on Klara and Musiq3. Thanks to the support of National Lottery players, one of the finalists will also have the chance to win the Supernova Audience Award, worth €1,000.
A competition for ensembles redefining classical music
Supernova is a springboard for young ensembles ready to make their mark. It's an opportunity for young talent to earn recognition, build stage experience and get off to an excellent start on a promising career. Classical music is our starting point, but we like to keep an open mind towards ensembles that blend or juxtapose different genres, styles and musical traditions.
how to participate?
Submissions open in September 2026 via this website. Based on the submitted videos and information, eight chamber music ensembles will be selected for the semi-final on 16 December 2026 at IMEP in Namur. After the semi-finals, four chamber music ensembles will advance to the finals on 31 January 2027 at DE SINGEL. There, the jury crowns two finalists as Supernovas of 2027.
