Abel Selaocoe founded the Bantu Ensemble in 2022, with bassist Alan Keary, pianist Fred Thomas and percussionist Dudù Kouaté. Together they invented their own language, weaving effortlessly through jazz, classical, and traditional music. In this concert they will peruse the albums Where Is Home and Hymns of Bantu – and, who knows, perhaps even some music so new the ink is barely dry.

Bantu Ensemble is my musical home base. Our work is about friendship, identity and community, but also about delving deeply into the unknown, playing without thinking.
