Festive opening weekend
celebrate the start of Klarafestival 2023
On Friday 10 March, Klarafestival 2023 will kick off! The whole team is eager to turn it into one big music party and provide artists and audiences with an unforgettable experience. Become Music!
10.03 Opening evening
We will start the festival with a sold-out opening concert featuring Barbara Hannigan and the London Symphony Orchestra. Afterwards, DJ Sander De Keere will provide an afterparty in the Klarafestival LOUNGE.
Couldn't get hold of a ticket? Then listen to the live broadcast on Klara or Musiq3 from 19:30.
Note: Don't let the national strike in public transport on Friday, March 10 spoil the fun and anticipate possible delays
11.03 World premiere and a marathon
Another reason to celebrate is the world premiere of Cassandra Miller's viola concerto in Flagey on 11 March, performed by Brussels Philharmonic, Ilan Volkov and Lawrence Power. Before the concert, you can enjoy delicious snacks and an introduction, and for those who want to relish the experience, there is an aftertalk with the artists and an afterparty with Greek music.
At Bozar, you can attend a three-hour trip with cellist Benjamin Glorieux, who will perform Bach's six cello suites. And don't forget to visit the free exhibition related to this concert.
12.03 End on a high note
On Sunday, you can discover the newest generation of young chamber music talents during the Supernova laureates concert with the Koi Collective and Trio Malatya at Bozar. Feel free to stick around for the rarely performed tragedy Thésée with Les Talens Lyriques and the Choeur de Chambre de Namur under the direction of Christophe Rousset. Before the concert, dramaturge Lalina Goddard will reveal the secrets behind this Baroque gem.
For those who like to discover local talent, Musikaa in Molenbeek offers a vibrant afternoon where young and old take the stage.
Welcome to the LOUNGE
During the festival, the BOX will be transformed into a LOUNGE, where you can meet before and after a concert for an introduction or an interview with the artists, or simply for a chat and a drink.
