on the road with Bach
On 11 March, cellist Benjamin Glorieux will play all six Bach cello suites. But the concert is more than a musical marathon. Last December, Benjamin followed the same route that Bach took 300 years ago, in order to hear his great hero Buxtehude play. Based on these impressions, video artist Klaas Verpoest created a fresh visual presentation.
expo in bozar
You can also revisit Benjamin's experiences in the antechamber specially designed for the occasion by visual artist Emilie Lauwers. In her installation, she incorporated two stories. A personal story of a man travelling from Arnstadt to Lübeck with his cello on his back, and at the same time a broader story: that of Bach's six cello suites, world-famous, played millions of times, part of our collective memory. The six suites, each also consisting of six movements, are reflected in six free-standing modules. Benjamin's interpretation of the music and its keys determined the structure and choice of materials.
You can visit the expo for free between 10 and 26 March 2023, in the Council Room at Bozar.

On 15 March at 15:30, Benjamin will give a concert with music by his great hero Johann Sebastian Bach, for children of 5 years and above. Playing his cello, he will tell about his adventures in the woods. The concert is free, reservation is not needed.
