Soundwalk, expo and mini-concerts
Art is for everyone. And that's precisely why there are plenty of activities during the festival that you can enjoy free of charge. From electrifying concerts and a sound walk to an exhibition with musical interventions.
Soundwalk - points de ville
21.03 - 29.03
Lisette Ma Neza (Brussels City Poet), Lisette Lombé (Belgian Poet Laureate) and sound artist Liew Niyomkarn soaked up the past and present of the Mont des Arts. Together, they created a literary soundwalk that makes this iconic site reverberate. Join the guided walk at 1:00 pm or 4:00 pm, and discover the heart of Brussels with new ears! This soundwalk is also continuously available in the geolocation app ECHOES.
I Solisti & Hiiit - Talisker
21.03 14:00 and 17:O0
The wind players of I SOLISTI, a battery of percussionists from HIIIT (formerly Slagwerk Den Haag) and a twenty-piece clarinet choir with students from Brussels and Flemish conservatories pay a powerful tribute to Luc Brewaeys. There is no better location than the rotunda of the Ravenstein Gallery in Brussels to (re)discover the vibrant dialogue between music and space in all its richness and intensity.
Marjolijn Dijkman & Henry Vega - Between the Lines / Natura Rebellis
21.03 continuously between 14:00 and 18:00
Between the Lines shows how a landscape struggles with the aftermath of human conflict, against a backdrop of drought and climate change. Henry Vega provided the music for the robot orchestra and also wrote the occasionally intervening tandem work Natura Rebellis for three singers. Performances of Natura Rebellis by Anat Spiegel, Kevin Walton and Jannes Coessens at 15:00 and 17:00.
Batômb Batômb - songs we call home
28.03 15:30
Last autumn, the Brussels choir Les Invisibles (La Voix des Femmes Sans Papiers) exchanged stories and songs about the intimacy and universality of ‘home’, accompanied by artist Antje van Wichelen, soprano Claron McFadden and sound artist Rokia Bamba. In this compelling concert, you will discover the results of their collective creation.
